The Label Edit : SOLITO

Sunny Queensland was the perfect spot to launch @solitoclothing five years ago, aimed at catering for a gap in the resort wear market.

Its founders Mary Zacharia & Olivia Mills say they wanted to create clothing that was worldly, relaxed and for everyone. that's worldly, relaxed & for everyone.

Since then, the brand's been stocked in boutiques across Australia and has an online presence overseas. But the girls admit growing the business initially had its challenges.

While Mary & Liv had been business partners for years in fashion agency, Lee Merchandising, they'd never had to source their own stock from overseas. "The challenges initially were the logistics, working with overseas factories and the processes, not having directly imported or manufactured goods ourselves", Mary explains.

Fast forward five years and they're used to travelling back and fourth to India, to source unique materials and meet with suppliers to bring their ideas to life. It's from abroad that the pair often draws inspiration for their collections.

This season's Spring Summer range has a Moroccan focus, incorporating beautiful North African inspired prints.

It's hard to pick just one favourite, but Mary says she loves the Bahia Maxi pictured below.

Working together for more than a decade, the girls know each other inside out. When it comes to their own personal styles, Mary describes Liv's as Bohemian Luxe, "it is a mix of travel, free-spirit & effortless style", she says.

While Liv has done the numbers on Mary's style, "75% understated glamour & 25% red carpet! She's the only girl I know who runs just as fast in heels as trainers and still looks chic after a long haul flight."

These girl bosses agree true style is being comfortable in your own skin and letting your personality shine through every outfit. That's reflected in their latest summer collection 'Sunrise Aubade' out now on the Solito website
